The absurd 64-mile bike ride

So yup, I biked 64 miles around Santa Barbara and it’s neighboring cities, along the beaches, through the foothills, downtown, uptown, through a mountainside neighborhood, and then some. It took 5.5 hours. I purportedly burned 2200 calories. It was longer than my previous longest two bike rides combined (37 mi and 26 mi), and I kind of can’t believe I pulled it off. April Adventures and Questionable Decisions

Big news: I’ve accepted my spot at Weill Cornell Medical College, so unless some waitlist shenanigans happen, I’m headed there in August! Wooooo!!!

By the way, Cornell’s in Manhattan itself, Upper East Side, not in Ithaca. Back in April, I attended Cornell’s accepted student weekend and then bused over to Boston to visit friends. Yosemite with Friends

It started with a tiny idea, that my friend at UCLA med school would have two days off after an exam, so we’d take the opportunity to utilize my mobility and drive someplace fun. When we decided on Yosemite, we invited our friends at Stanford and the Silicon Valley, and all of a sudden our group more than quintupled to 11 and it turned into a huge expedition. Woot! Taiwan 2 of 3 – Travel

This was the fourth time I’ve visited Taiwan in the last 7 years. On previous trips, studying, teaching or leadership programs, or family have been the main focuses. Well, family was the priority this time too (see the previous post), but this was also the first time I brought a camera intent on producing some photographs.
